The idea of having robots and what not high technology in Victorian time is original, though at first slightly confusing. It took me a while to get my head around the setting, as the plot and the time of the event combined seemed so bizzard. But it was good fun reading a Steampunk genera book.
It is a very fast-paced book, but some place it seemed to lack a bit of description and the emotions of each character didn't come through at times. But other times, it was well-said and the actions keeps the reader reading. The romance was a bit disappointing for me, but it might be because I'm a bit of a romantic haha~ Unlike some other books I have read, the characters in this book sometimes could be a little hard for me to visualise (I always imagine the characters as I read them or imagine all the scenes in the books in my head), and this maybe be due to the lack of description in the characters.
Overall, this is a very original book, taking tech back in time. It's worth a read. I liked it a lot but didn't love it. To the credit of this book and author, I am still desperately wanting to read next book. Cliffhanger... :(
